Chapter 7: Language Acquisition

Language is a medium of communication. Verbal communication takes place through speaking listening and writing. On the other hand, nonverbal communication takes place through signed language, body gestures, and facial expressions. Initially, when the man was self-discovering himself, he wanted to communicate with others for his survival. Evolution took place and signed language was replaced by sounds and syllables. This further led to the forming of words and their meanings.

We develop the process of communication through language, which is a spontaneous process, and we can't interact with each other if no language is available. Nature has given man indicts to Brain is the vital organ of the human body responsible for every work done by it. The human nervous system knows how to react and adjust with different tasks going around him. Neurologists who studies the nervous system defines us the when the baby is born he has billions of brain cells already placed by nature he will need all Each brain cell has dendrites which are the adjunct of the cells connected with other brain cells, the point of connection of these cells is called a synapse, brain cells make connections to transfer the information from cell to cell through electrical signals.

In today’s world of advancement, science has proven the process of “hard-wire.” In this process, synapses are accelerated repeatedly, and the pattern on which cells are connected creates electrical signals. The process gets stronger, efficient with each signal that passes through the cells network to transfer the information required by the brain quickly and accurately. Nerve cells present in the brain cortex are responsible for the development of the language. These nerve cells are divided into two parts the one is responsible for the hearing process and the other one for the formulation of the speech. The ear receives the sounds in which the brain can relate through the nerve cells. Then the brain sends signals to the organs involved in the speaking process to make the language development work.

Learning the language process is different in grown-ups than in a child. A child learns language from the depths of his unconscious mind. There are certain kinds of activities to be done, both physically and mentally by the child for the speaking process to get completed.

Sounds in the environment stimulate the child to mimic them and try to reproduce them as heard. Production of speech is a natural process; there is no logical reason for that. It seems that nature is being logical. When we study nature, there are so many logics we see around us that in the end, we believe that there is some A child's brain reorganizes the connections of the brain after birth and these connections get highly impacted by the environment the child is living. Repetition of positive experiences before the child can make his brain development strong.

The physiology of the ear is very complex and different from the anatomy. Sound waves travel in the air in the form of vibrations around us; these vibrations are caught by our brain and send it to the ear canals.
